We find ourselves on the same dark and winding road as every other musician in Australia during this crisis, but the dawn is just over that hill yonder. We'll stay the course, and when the time comes for us to be together again, we are going to have the wildest party your town has ever seen.
New dates up on our website and further details to come as we get them. Art by the wonderful Ben Clark Design.
Folks we are so sorry to add to the long list of cancellations, frustration and heartbreak but due to the current COVID-19 situation we will be unable to perform in Melbourne this weekend.
Be safe, be kind and be responsible so we can all get through this together.
If you want to do something positive, support your favourite musicians by buying their merch online - the next few months are going to be tough.
If you know a muso personally maybe throw a few $ onto a Woolies/Coles gift card and drop it in their letterbox.
Write your elderly neighbour a nice note on a roll of toilet paper and leave it at their door.
Wash yo handies, and wash yo wristies. Save the parties for when this thing is done.
We’ll be back on the road as soon as it’s the right thing for all of us. Until then, big love from us forever. BA ❤️💙❤️
Hey East Coast pals, we're locked and loaded and coming to your town soon! We got festivals! We got ourselves performing with Geoff Achison and The Souldiggers - also launching his new single! We got a steam train!! And we got Australia's wildest piano player Mr Ezra Lee joining us on our QLD dates!
If this ain't a party, we're in the wrong business. Tickets via our website.
Taken from our album "Carnival Of Fools", and shot at ReadSpeed Mini Mecca in Murarrie QLD by Geoff McLeod from Sputnik Films. We'll be announcing an East Coast tour shortly, with dates across NSW, VIC and QLD in March and April - can't wait to see you Arcadians again soon!!
To mark the one-year anniversary of us releasing ‘Carnival Of Fools’ into the big bad world, we have a massive sale happening on our merch store! All items are discounted until the end of February, so dash off to our Bandcamp page or hit the BUY button on our website before we get a hold of ourselves.
Picked up these two bad boys at the Australian Blues Music "Chain" Awards held in Goulburn NSW this weekend!!
We were actually in the middle of our performance at Mornington Peninsula Blues Festival all the way over in Victoria - which was a cracker btw - when Lloyd Spiegel shouted the news from across the stage that we'd won "Band Of The Year" and "Song Of The year' for our track "Seven Days A Week" off the Carnival Of Fools album. Lloyd himself won three Chain Awards at the same ceremony for his fantastic album "Cut and Run", and our pal Julian James won Best New Talent. So we're all pretty chuffed with ourselves. Little wins like this make a big difference to our lives when we're scrapping away at the coalface. Thanks for your support and well-wishes!
Small show for a big issue. We'll be donating the door from this show to the Australian Red Cross Disaster and Relief Recovery Fund. Our hearts go out to the folks who have been affected by the fires that have caused so much destruction across the country. Big love
Hello Melbourne, looking forward to getting sweaty with you again. Some intimate duo shows in this run, so slightly less sweat than usual is entirely possible. Tickets for the Classic Cinemas Elstenrwick on sale now.
The folks at Guitar Bros. have sorted a fine line-up for the annual Brisbane Blues and Rhythm Festival on Nov 30, with with all proceeds going to The Brisbane Youth Service who help homeless & disadvantaged young people in South East Queensland.
Kicking off early in the arvo at Chardon's Corner Hotel, Annerley with Vix & The Slick Chix, The Hipshooters, Dezzie D & The Stingrayz, Craig Claxton & The Barbarians feat Tim Gaze, Blues Arcadia - YEW! - and The Steve Edmonds Band (from Sydney).
Yewmundi-bound for good times at the inaugural Offbeat Festival with the added bonus of the many tasty beverages that they brew in-house at the Eumundi Imperial Brewery. We discovered their (h)IPA last time we played there on the Carnival Of Fools tour. Bloody delicious!
Depression. You're not alone - particularly if you're a musician.
The constant battles with creativity, addictions, sleep deprivation and one's own inner darkness can be overwhelming. Admitting you need help is the first step on a long road but often the SSRI meds designed to help come with their own issues, stigmas and dangers.
"The Ballad of Sir Tralyne" is an expression of our experiences with anti-depressants and psychiatric treatment over the years... While this vid may be tongue-in-cheek, we're seriously fortunate to have gotten help with our individual mental health struggles.
And please: if you think you might need help, there are literally dozens of websites, helplines, and GPs who are waiting to hear from you, including Beyond Blue: visit www.beyondblue.org.au/getsupport or call 1300 22 4636. Don't wait.
Directed, filmed and produced by Tobias Broughton, Horse and Duke Productions. Additional cameras by Brendan Watterson and Nathan Byrnes. Big thanks to Alannah for letting us...
Back for some more rootinest-tootinest times at Doo-Bop Jazz Bar in Brisbane on Aug 10 - with the King biscuit Horns on the Gatsby Room stage for more sass and swing than you can shake a stick at. Tickets from the venue, link on our Live page or via Facebook.
